Irish Whiskey
I looked about 5 times, and I thought I posted something up, but didn't see it.
Anyway, I'm sure nhcigarfan posted about Green Spot Irish Whiskey being good. I also read AVB saying it was good.
It is good. Very, very good.
On an aside, Redbreast is also a great Irish Whiskey, IMHO.

Give Powers Irish Whiskey a try. Inexpensive but very good. Was introduced to it in Ireland.
If you're feeling a little extravagant, try Midleton. Pricey but a great special occasion treat.

What is the difference in flavors between Irish whiskey and Scotch?

No peat in irish whiskey, as far as I can tell. I almost get a minty flavor from the way they process irish wiskey (I think it's 1 pot still opposed to a 3 pot) I could be totally full of shit too. I've only had about 3 irish whiskeys.Originally Posted by Kenyth

Hmmm, I always assumed they were both made with smoked peat. I should try it.

Tullamore Dew and Redbreast are my two favorite Irish Whiskys. To me Irish has a light, crisp taste with some pretty heavy fruit and citrus notes. Speyside Scotch, in my opinion, is as close to an Irish Whisky as you can get with a Scotch.
